Specifics of the Sales
Animals are sold by the head and rabbits (3) & Turkeys (2) by the pen.
Buyers may split an animal or pen with other buyers.
Payment may take place the day of the sale, or the buyer will be billed.
All dairy heifers will be sold to the floor buyer unless the buyer owns a dairy.
If a buyer has the top bid for an animal, they will choose whether they want to have the animal for custom meat or resale to the floor buyer.
If custom is chosen, the buyer pays the full invoice amount plus cutting and wrapping. The buyer also chooses where to have the animal harvested and will be notified regarding cutting instructions and pick up time.
If resale is chosen the buyer will pay the invoice amount minus the floor price.
What's in it for you?
As a buyer, you are given a unique opportunity to invest in the youth of Cassia County. Buyers receive public recognition as supporters of 4-H and FFA. Part of your purchase may qualify for a tax deduction - check with your accountant.
The purpose of the Cassia County 4-H/FFA Market Animal Sale Committee is to assist, through education, the 4-H/FFA youth of Cassia County. The Committee is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation.
The market animal sale is the climax of a year's project for 4-H and FFA members. As a learning and business experience, these young people have selected, fed, and groomed either a beef, swine, dairy heifer, lamb, turkey, goat, or rabbit. They have brought their project to the Fair to be judged, graded and sold. This is their market place. Here they present their stock and receive monetary value for their project and year of labor.
